This paper highlights the reasons for violence against women, international & domestic platforms and recommendations (for policy makers and CSOs) for its elimination. The Constitution of Pakistan has several provisions for the defense and uplift of women. It states the facts about existing gender gaps in economic, social and political participation. Violence against women is carried out when legislation and law enforcement structures do not identify domestic violence as an offense. Violence against women upholds its thrust from gender inequality, Illiteracy, ignorance and poverty in Pakistan.
